ICSA URGENT NOTICE

RESUMPTION OF PRELIMS CLASSES
BEGINNING JULY 5 AND MAINS ON SEPT 3

The examination schedule of the Union Public Service Commission for 2013 was altered because of the Parliamentary Elections.  ICSA had no choice but to change its Prelims and Mains teaching plans to suit the UPSC alterations. We started our Prelims on January 08, 2014 and continued till the end of March.  Beginning April, we started the Mains classes (optional, Essay and Current Affairs) which we shall discontinue temporarily at the end of June.  We shall restart the Prelims classes in July and the students take the examination on August 24.  Full fledged Mains classes begin again on September 03 and continue till the end of November.  Students take the Mains exam beginning December 2014.

For several reasons we have decided to change the pattern of teaching of Prelims when we resume it during July and August.  We propose to have it from July 5 to August 10 on weekends – i.e, Saturdays and Sundays only from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.   there will be five classes of 90 minute duration each day giving a total of 60 classes in 6 weeks.  We shall cover the entire syllabus of the Prelims – both G.S. and CSAT.  This will enable the students to have 5 days free to study on their own.  This , we think is crucial because they were out of touch with the Prelims syllabus for 3 months.  What is more important is that they will have elaborate exposure to all aspects of the G.S. and CSAT syllabi during this time.  A comprehensive test on the entire Prelims syllabus simulating the UPSC pattern will be held on August 16.  The students take the UPSC conducted test on August 24.

The Mains classes which began in the first week of April and had an interlude in July and August will resume on September 3, 2014.

The introduction of the crash course makes it necessary for us to make some minor alterations to the announced test schedule for Prelims.  Now, instead of the tests on July 26 and August 9, there will be a comprehensive final test on August 16, 2014.  The details about the time of the test will be announced later.

P.S.

We are pleased to inform all the well wishers of ICSA that the Final results of Civil Services Examination 2013 have just been announced and six of our students have made it to the list of successful students.  They are Priyabrata Roy, Bishop Sarkar, Mini Chowdhary, Sweta Agarwal, Sibu Prasad Mishra and Dhiman Barai.  Priyabrata and Bishop are sure to get IPS, Mini, Sweta and Dhiman will get IRS and Sibu, perhaps Railways or one of the Accounting Services.  Our hearty congratulations to them.
